  I took my 5 year old Mazda3 here as it wasn't starting. I was told that there was "low compression" in the engine and they either needed to put a second-hand engine in (costing $2,500) or take the engine out to repair it (costing $3,500).
  
  After speaking to a few mechanics who said this occurrence in such a new car was almost impossible, I decided to get a second opinion and had it towed to the Mazda Service Centre.
  
  Mazda fixed the problem within 20 minutes - they agreed that compression was low and upon checking the spark plugs and giving them a clean, the engine warning light stopped flashing and the car started. Mazda only charged me $50!
  
  I let Bridgestone know what had happened and all I received was denials and the mechanic blaming his equipment. It's very clear that they were trying to take advantage of someone who doesn't know how cars work (or they're simply incompetent) - what a disgusting business!
